Military Leave & Re-Employment Rights
A federal law called the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) gives members of the National Guard, Armed Forces Reserve, and other service members who leave civilian jobs for military service broad reemployment rights. USERRA also prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of military service. State and local laws may provide more extensive protections than USERRA.
